In order for us to run the society smoothly we need to store certain information about you.

The law on data protection is changing soon and therefore we need to explain what data we hold and how we use it.

Members’ details are processed fairly and lawfully in order to satisfy the agreement entered with you on your admittance to membership and to enable us to contact you in regard to activities of the Arts Society. If you no longer wish to receive emails from us you can to opt out at any time.

We keep this information all the time you are a member and for 3 years afterwards. Your details will be kept securely and are not shared with any other organisation.

We use the information to send:

  • information about lectures, events and other activities,
  • AGM papers,
  • Notices,
  • flyers and other publicity documents.
  • newsletters

Members’ details are also passed to the “The Arts Society” headquarters in London to enable inclusion on the mailing of the quarterly magazine and other communications including information about any upcoming national events or items of legitimate interest

It is also used to calculate the total amount of affiliation fees we pay. We also send them some contact details (if applicable) for Gift Aid purposes.
