Meopham Mini Artists is a delightful Art club for pre-school children and their parents. It is run by an art teacher every Wednesday Morning in the Scout hut at Meopham.
About 20 children and their parents/ carers attend. Its aim is to expose preschool children to art activities. The work is very varied and of an extremely high standard. Each week there is a theme and the children, and their parents select which activities they would like to do.
There are also refreshments available. The social side of the group is also important, as it also provides the opportunity to develop fine motor skills and for social interaction (sharing, language development and so on) for the children.Art Activities include painting, printing, model making, collage, sculpture and even painting on ice.Children are able to take their work home.
There are also seasonal activities and parties at Summer, Christmas and Easter
The Art Society Gravesend have given a small grant for the purchase of art resources such as paint brushes, paint sticks, crayons, paper and card.
Unfortunately, the group is currently closed due to the pandemic so our involvement in the activity was cut short, hopefully we will be able to pick it up again when the group reopens
